2017 Northeastern Oklahoma A&M TE Mike'Quan Dean has five offers and more could be on the way soon

2017 Northeastern Oklahoma A&M TE Mike'Quan Dean (6-4, 240) is an emerging star on the JUCO recruiting trail and he's got the offers and interest to prove it...

"I have offers from South Alabama, UAB, Nebraska, UCF and Syracuse," Dean told JCFootball.com. "I've also been talking a lot with Alabama and Oklahoma State, but neither of them have offered yet."

Dean's latest offer is from Syracuse and he said he's hoping to get out and see what all of the schools that have offered are about this spring and summer.

"I am looking at visits, but right now I don't have anything official set up," Dean noted.

As a freshman for the Golden Norsemen last season, Dean finished with 14 receptions for 128 yards and three scores while playing a more traditional tight end role.

"I was on the end of the line with my hand on the ground most of the time last season," Dean said. "I actually really liked doing that a lot because I love to block and pancake guys, but I also love to run routes and get one-on-one matchups with safeties and linebackers."

This offseasn, Dean has been hard at work perfecting his craft, working on the things that will help him be the most complete tight end he can be.

"Footwork, catching the ball, speed, I'm literally working on everything," Dean said. "I'm out running, lifting, catching passes, stuff like that, every day."

Dean enjoyed a solid prep career at Tulsa (Ok.) Memorial High School, but he was unable to qualify, so he decided to sign with Northeastern Oklahoma A&M to continue playing ball and getting his academics in order.

"The main thing was because it was close to home, but they also have a great tradition here and I wanted to be part of it," Dean recalled.

Dean is on pace to finish up his two-year degree in December and he will have two years to play two following the 2016 football season.
