WSC POW and Top Performances

Allan Hancock players took some of the top honors for their performance against favored, El Camino. Overall, however, there were many outstanding performances throughout the conference.

Offense

QUARTERBACK--RYAN CANFIELD, Allan Hancock

 Ryan Canfield completed 15 of 22 passes for 315 yards and 4 TD's with no interceptions. Ryan is a 6-1, 190 lb. sophomore from Atascadero High School

WIDE RECEIVER--JERMAINE MOORE, Allan Hancock

Jermaine Moore, a 6-2, 200 lb. sophomore, caught 6 passes for 172 yards and 3 TD's. Jermaine is from Maine, Pennsylvania.

QUARTERBACK--CHAD MUNSON,  Compton

Chad Munson completed 24 of 48 passes for 351 yards and 1 TD.

Defense

LINEBACKER--MANDRELL BUTLER, Compton

Mandrell led a defense that held Golden West to 13 points. Mandrell  had 2 sacks, 4 tackles for loss, 6 unassisted tackles and 8 assists.

LINEBACKER--KEVIN SPERRY, L.A. Harbor

Kevin Sperry, a 6-2 228-lb. freshman from North Torrance High School, had an outstanding game for the Seahawks. Kevin had 14 tackles (6 unassisted), 2 tackles for loss and 1 pass break up.

DEFENSIVE LINEMAN--CHANCE COVERT, Santa Barbara

Chance Covert was a top player for the Vaquero's. Chance had 5 tackles, 3 unassisted tackles, 2 tackles for loss and 1 pass break up.

WSC FOOTBALL HIGHLIGHTS

ANDRE NICKELSON (Allan Hancock) carried 33 times for 116 yards and 1 TD.

STEVEN SARUBBI (Allan Hancock) kicked 3 field goals of 39, 35 and 45 yards.

DAVID HOLMES (Allan Hancock) had 7 tackles, 1 sack and 1 fumble recovery.

RY PETERSON (Allan Hancock) had 5 unassisted tackles, 3 assists, 1 pass break up and 1 blocked field goal.

EPHRAIM EVANS (Allan Hancock) had 2 sacks, 8 tackles and 3 unassisted tackles.

EUGENE CHILDS (Compton) caught 8 passes for 111 yards.

HARVEY WHITTEN (Compton) had 6 assisted tackles, 1 interception and 2 pass break ups.

JOHN ANDREWS (Compton) had 4 hurries, 3 tackles for loss, 7 asisted tackles and 2 unassisted tackles.

EMERY BECKLES (Compton) had 5 unassisted tackles, 1 pass break up, 2 kickoff returns for 65 yards, 2 punt returns for 17 yards and 2 pass receptions for 24 yards.

ROBERT THOMAS (Bakersfield) carried 13 times for 95 yards and 1 TD.

LYMAR PRATT (L.A. Harbor) caught 3 passes for 30 yards and 1 TD, plus he returned 2 kickoffs for 84 yards.

CHRIS SMITH (L.A. Harbor) a 6-3 245 lb. sophomore linebacker from South Torrance High School, had 13 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 1 sack.

MONTE PARSON (L.A. Harbor) a 6-3 270 lb. sophomore defensive end from Carson High School, had 10 tackles, 2 sacks and 1 tackle for a loss. BOOMER WELLS (Santa Monica) completed 28 of 47 passes for 231 yards and 1 TD.

TRUMAINE MITCHELL (Santa Monica) caught 11 passes for 98 yards.

JOSH MURPHY (Citrus) returned a fumble 75 yards for a touchdown.

CHRIS BAILEY (Santa Barbara) had 13 tackles and 5 unassisted tackles. AARON NEAL (Ventura) had 5 catches for 85 yards and 1 TD.

ZACHARY WASSERMAN (L.A. Valley) completed 12 of 23 passes for 155 yards and 2 TD's.

CHASE SCHMIDTZ (Moorpark) carried 16 times for 90 yards.

JOE KROELLS (Glendale) completed 10 of 22 passes for 159 yards and 1 TD.

STEVE CARBALLO (Glendale) caught 6 passes for 125 yards and 1 TD.

RANDY BECKMAN (Glendale) had 6 tackles, 3 assists and 1 blocked kick.

PATRICK LOUIS-PIERRE (Glendale) had 4 tackles, 2 assists, 1 sack and 1 hurry.

CODY MURPHY (Ventura) had 12 tackles and 1 interception.

JAMES WASHINGTON (Ventura) had 10 tackles.
