JUCO DB Hauls In SEC Offer

2017 Jones CB Javien Hamilton (5-11, 165) got some good news to start the week when an SEC school became the third program to extend him an offer...

Hamilton announced the offer from Mississippi on his Twitter.

"It's a surprise for sure," a happy Hamilton told JCFootball.com. "It's just a blessing to get the offer and shows me the hard work and hours I have put in are paying off.

"(The Mississippi coaches) say they can see my potential and they said I'm a hard worker."

The offer is the third for the talented corner and first from the SEC.

"I already had offers from Texas-San Antonio and Southern Mississippi," Hamilton said. "I have also talked to MemphisSouth CarolinaCincinnati and West Virginia and a couple more schools in the spring."

As a freshman for Jones last season, Hamilton totaled 22 tackles while working into the Bobcats' secondary rotation and starting a few games.

Hamilton is on pace to finish up his two-year degree in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2015 football season.
