Hamilton announced the offer from Mississippi on his Twitter.
"It's a surprise for sure," a happy Hamilton told JCFootball.com. "It's just a blessing to get the offer and shows me the hard work and hours I have put in are paying off.
"(The Mississippi coaches) say they can see my potential and they said I'm a hard worker."
The offer is the third for the talented corner and first from the SEC.
"I already had offers from Texas-San Antonio and Southern Mississippi," Hamilton said. "I have also talked to Memphis, South Carolina, Cincinnati and West Virginia and a couple more schools in the spring."
As a freshman for Jones last season, Hamilton totaled 22 tackles while working into the Bobcats' secondary rotation and starting a few games.
Hamilton is on pace to finish up his two-year degree in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2015 football season.
