Two More Offers For Clemons

It was less than a week ago that we posted a story about 2017 Cisco DE Micheal Clemons (6-6, 240) and at that time, we reported he had two offers with several other schools looking his way. On Tuesday, he doubled his total offers to four with offers from a Mountain West and a Big 12 school...

"I just got offers from Utah State and Kansas State," Clemons told JCFootball.com.

The offers from the Aggies and Wildcats join the two he already had from Middle Tennessee State and UCF.

Clemons redshirted last season, so this will be his first playing JUCO football.

"I'm that guy who can use his size advantage well and I have good technique," Clemons said. "A big thing for me has been working on some new pass-rush moves, making sure I bend that edge well so I can get to the quarterback and also dropping into coverage.

"That's something I haven't done that much of, but I need to be able to do it playing the position they have me playing now."

That position is the hybrid defensive end/linebacker spot that has become so en vogue in both the college and pro game.

"I just love rushing the quarterback," Clemons said. "I have a good motor and my size really allows me to cause problems."

As a prep at Sachse (Tx.) High School in 2014, Clemons was a promising recruit with lots of interest from schools, however, he suffered an injury early in his senior season and that derailed his plans.

"I tore my groin in the first game of my senior season," Clemons recalled. "After that, interest sorta dried up.

"I also was unable to get qualified, so that sorta got me looking around for an opportunity at a JUCO program and Cisco had seen me and asked me to come to their camp.

"I worked out for them and a couple of weeks later, they called and said they had a place for me here."

Since he redshirted last year, Clemons will play this season for Cisco and then will graduate in May and he will have three years to play three following the 2016 football season.
