"I'm heading up to see West Virginia (today) and I will be there through their spring game on Saturday," Isreal told JCFootball.com. "They haven't offered me yet, but I've built a good connection with them over the past couple of days and they said they need someone to come in right away and compete and have somebody ready to step in once their quarterback leaves after this coming season."

Besides his heavy interest from the Mountaineers, Isreal actually does have offers from MemphisGeorgia Southern, Missouri State, NC Central, San Diego State and UT-Martin.

As a freshman this past season, Isreal led the Grizzlies to a 7-5 record by going 126 of 242 (52.1%) 1,841 yards passing with 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while rushing for two scores.

"I'd definitely call myself a quarterback who can be a playmaker," Isreal responded when asked about his style of play. "I am a 'pass first' guy, but if things break down or everyone is covered, I can make plays with my legs for sure."

Isreal enjoyed a solid prep career in South Carolina, but it took him a while to get qualified, so he wound up taking the JUCO route instead of taking an offer from a smaller school.

"I had a lot of schools interested in me, but it took me a while before I finally got my (SAT/ACT) test scores, so I qualified late and by the time I was all set to go academically, all of the interest and offers had dried up," Isreal noted. "Butler was a great opportunity for me with their tradition, the coaching they give you and the fact that they have a long history of getting guys moved on to four-year schools."

Since he was a qualifier out of high school, Isreal can leave right away and he plans to sign with a school very soon with the thought of enrolling this summer. Wherever he winds up, Isreal will have four years to play three starting this fall.
