Philistin currently holds offers from Louisiana-Monroe, Southeastern Louisiana, Northwestern State and Central Arkansas and he's waiting to hear from a Big Ten school on where things might be headed with them.
""I took an official visit to Purdue back at the end of March and I am waiting to hear back whether they'll offer or not," Philistin told JCFootball.com. "It was great really enjoyed it and great environment and honestly the coaching staff was great too. I had never really gone on a visit and thought 'I just want to play under the staff'. They are some good guys doing some good things.
""I am trying to make a decision sometime this coming week. I don't want to drag it out. If, I am not sure (about Purdue) by then I will prob go with ULM unless one of the Florida schools pops up (and offers)."
As a sophomore last season, while playing all over the defensive line for the Scotties, Philistin finished with 46 tackles, 4.5 sacks and three tackles-for-loss.
"I played mostly as a three-tech, but I did some five-tech stuff too," Philistin noted. "I like to move around and keep active on the field."
Philistin finished up his two-year degree in March and he will have three years to play three starting this fall.
