Offers Roll In For Head

With five offers already to his name, 2018 Hutchinson LB Quen Head (6-2, 210) is already a very popular prospect among four-year coaching staffs and more could be on the way very soon...

"I have offers right now from Arkansas StateBowling Green, Coastal Carolina, Georgia State, Colorado State and Utah," Head told recently.

The Utes are the latest school to offer the rising linebacker prospect.

"It was definitely a surprise for me," Head acknowledged about his first Power 5 offer. "Coach (Guy) Holliday told me I had the offer and he told me about the program and how it's a good fit for me.

"He said I have the same type of playing style that the previous linebacker had."

In addition to the six schools that have offered, Head said that Memphis and Washington State have both been in contact with him as well.

As a freshman for the Blue Dragons last season, Head finished with 79 tackles, six sacks, 13 tackles-for-loss and one interception from his outside linebacker spot.

"I can play both outside spots, but I am more of a weakside guy," Head noted. "I tackle well. I can cover the field and I'm good coming off the edge blitzing.

"My coaches use me in different ways and I think that's what really helps me have an impact on the game."

As a prep at Mary Persons High School in Forsyth, Georgia, Head was a sought-after player, but his academics kept him from qualifying so he decided to go the JUCO route.

"The coaches here are great and I already knew someone (Tre Willis) who was here and felt good about the opportunities here,": Head recalled. "It was just the right fit for me and it's worked out."

Head will finish up his two-year degree in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2017 football season.
