in and beat SCC 24-14.
The Scottsdale ground attack was ineffective all night as the line of scrimmage was really controlled by the Pima defensive line. When Pima was on offense they seemed to control that line of scrimmage as well, using a great deal of misdirection type plays to keep the Chokes on their heels.
Scottsdale scored first but the PAT was blocked. Pima answered back and knocked in their PAT attempt taking a 7-6 lead into the locker room.
Both teams put together nice drives in the second half, but neither team could capitalize. Finally Pima pushed it in to the end zone converted the point after and took a 14-6 lead. The Scottsdale faithful was a bit anxious but SCC answered back after quarterback Jack Tomco hit Marcus Gonzales for almost 60 yards putting SCC inside the five yard line.
Scottsdale punched it in and converted the 2-point conversion to even the score. It appeared like this game was going to go down to the wire, but Pima again answered the call and drove right down the field and scored on a 27 yard touchdown run. That proved to be the game as Pima added a field goal late, to push the final score to 24-14.
Scottsdale travels to rival Mesa on Saturday night the 29th in a game scheduled to kickoff at 6pm.
