This is our weekly roundup of top performances around the nation. SADDLEBACK defensive end B. Jay Parsons (pictured left), 6-5, 255, had 2 sacks and an INT returned 68 yards for a TD and helped force 7 turnovers. GARDEN CITY frosh DT Ordell Gilliart, 6-3, 310, had 12 tackles (4 solo; 8 assists), 3 sacks, and 2 TFLs vs. Fort Scott. Here are a bunch more from last weekend and weekends before that...

QUARTERBACKS

CHAFFEY – Freshman Nick Davila, 6-3, 182, set a school record with 416 yds on 33 completions.

WEST L.A. – Freshman U of Wisconsin bounceback Devin Hollins, 6-2, 200, was 19 of 30 for 354 yds and 3 TDs in upset of Compton

TYLER – Tony Eckert, 6-3, 190, was 12 for 21 for 346 yds and 3 TDs and added 3 rushing vs. Blinn

REEDLEY – Robert Johnson returned to action full-time and the 6-2, 195-pounder posted 15 of 30 for 342 and 3 TD stats.

HUTCHINSON – Frosh Robert Coats,  6-1, 210, was 24 of 40 for 322 yds and 3 TDs with no picks in narrow loss to Butler County and ran for 1.

SAN JOAQUIN DELTA – Freshman Steven Wichman, 6-3, 224, completed 28 of 38 for 321 yds and 2 tallies, in 51-20 win over Sequoias

SACRAMENTO – Jesse Kozak, 5-10, 180, was 24 of 43 for 288 and 4 TDs in loss to Merced

EASTERN ARIZONA – Frosh Scott Martinez, 6-3, 225, went 24 for 49 for 253 yds  in 31-3 loss to Arizona Western.

HANCOCK – Chad Nicholson, 5-10, 200, went 19 of 26 for 252 and 2 scores and rushed for 2 more in win over Bakersfield.

N.E. OKLAHOMA – Andre Daniel, 6-4, 190, hit on 20 of 25 passes for 247 yds and 2 TDs and rushed for another.

RUNNING BACKS

CONTRA COSTA – De Andre MacFarland, 5-10, 185, had 27 carries for 267 and 3 TDs in OT loss to Monterey

GARDEN CITY – Andre Hall, 5-10, 205, lugged 33 times for 258 yds and TDs of 11 and 67, in 38-14 win over Fort Scott

PALOMAR – Lawrence Letuli, 5-8, 195, went 30 for 214 and a score, in 44-20 win over Pasadena

BUTLER COUNTY – Joseph Harris, 5-9, 215, was 34 for 209 yds in 36-34 squeaker vs. Hutchinson

CHABOT – Freshman Earl Powell, 5-10, 190, was 25 for 208 and a score in 40-14 win over San Jose

ANTELOPE VALLEY – Jamar Day 5-11, 200, had 21 carries, 191 yds and 3 TDs in 47-39 win over San Diego Mesa

MONTEREY – Izaiah Williams, 6-0, 211, had 20 carries for 187 and a score vs. Contra Costa

FRESNO – Freshman Nate Wright, 5-10, 180, carried just 8 times for 158 yds and TDs of 64, 45, 6 and 14, 59-9 over Diablo Valley and Rudy Jones, 6-2, 215 was 10 for 107

RIVERSIDE – Freshman Keith Bizzle, 5-8, 170, carried 24 times for 150 and 2 scores and caught a 15-yd TD pass in win over Golden West

MESABI – Frosh Quentin Coley, 5-10, 190, notched 20 carries for 144 and 2 scores, in 41-8 win over Vermilion

ROCHESTER – Chad Strike, 5-11, 185, rambled 142 yds on 17 trips and a score in 29-13 win over Ridgewater

MT. SAN ANTONIO – Cazmir Hill, 5-6, 210, 30 carries for 140 yds and a TD against tough Fullerton defense

KILGORE – Reggie Bennett, 6-0, 210, 26 carries for 130 yds, in 19-16 win over Ranger.

NASSAU – Zhivargo Simmons, 6-0, 200, 12 carries for 127 yds in 27-8 win over Dean

DIXIE – David Anger, 5-11, 200, carried 15 times for 118 yds and scored 4 TDs in win over Pima

RECEIVERS

CHAFFEY – Cody Sorenson, 6-2, 185, had a school record 13 catches for a record 205 yds and a TD

GAVILAN – Ted Mason, 6-3, 195, caught 8 passes for 191 yds and 2 scores in 35-18 win over Mendocino two weeks ago.

N.W. MISSISSIPPI – Frosh WR Joemal Campbell, 6-1, 170, had 3 catches for 147 yds and an 87-yd TD jaunt.

CANYONS – Trevor Brackett, 6-2, 185, caught 5 for 142 vs. L.A. Pierce

HUTCHINSON – Freshman Scott Hecathorn, 5-10, 180, hauled in 8 for 115 and freshman TB Leonard Brice, 6-1, 220, had 5 for 110.

REEDLEY – Lester Shelton, 5-10, 176, caught 6 for 132 and a pair of scores in 55-31 rout of Sacramento

WEST L.A. – Lamark Henderson, 5-9, 180, caught 10 for 139 and Shadee Shakir, 6-2, 185, 3 for 113 vs. Compton

SADDLEBACK – Freshman Julien Petit, 6-3, 190, caught 7 for 137 and 2 TDs in 49-7 bopping of Long Beach

DEFENSE

MT. SAN ANTONIO – Fr. DL Filisonuu Tafisi, 6-2, 250, 5 solo stops, 4 for losses, 2 sacks one going for a safety.

FOOTHILL – Fr. Gary Lovely, 6-3, 215 recovered 3 fumbles, one for a TD, had a sack and 2 hurries, in 30-14 win over DeAnza

N.W. MISSISSIPPI – LB Terrance Smith, 6-2, 225, nailed 12 Holmes runners and had 8 assists.

VENTURA  - LB Cortez Swanigan, 6-4, 240, 37-yd INT for a score, 2 sacks, 8 solo, 3 assists, in 34-24 win over Santa Barbara

COMPTON – LB Jeremy Stewart, 6-3, 235, had 6 tackles, 2 sacks, a fumble recovery for an 83-yd TD and 2 TFLs

PALOMAR – S Ron Rockett, 6-1, 190, had a pair of picks to set up two TDs vs. Pasadena.

COFFEYVILLE – SS Randy Kelly, 6-0, 180, recorded 10 tackles, a pass broken up, an INT, caused a fumble and recovered two.   

FULLERTON LBs Dustin Sober, 6-2, 220, 7 solo, 4 assists and a TFL and John Morris, 6-2, 245, 4 solo, 5 assists and 2 tackles for loss vs. Mt. SAC.

CERRITOS – Freshman LB Alfonso Auelua, 6-3, 250, had 7 solo tackles, 6 assists and 2 passes broken up vs. El Camino.

PASADENA – Freshman DE Marcus Raines, 6-3, 230, had team high 15 tackles vs. Palomar

N.E. OKLAHOMA – LB Travis Thompson, 6-2, 225, had 8 solo, 5 assists and returned a pick 37 yds for a TD vs. Cisco

HANCOCK – FR LB Trevor Shamblee, 6-0, 210, helped Bulldogs to first ever win at Bakersfield, 28-17, with 7 solo stops, 4 assists and a fumble recovery.  He is from Jamaica Queens in New York.

GLENDALE – Fr. LB Ryan Workman, 5-11, 205, 4 tackles, 10 assists, recovered a fumble in final minutes 27-21 win over ELAC

OTHERS

REEDLEY – Derwin Slaughter, 5-8, 175, pulled a Dante Hall with 78- and 68-yd punt returns vs. Sac City

PALOMAR – OTs Taylor Schmidt , 6-5, 325, and Chris Pino, 6-6, 320,  led a destructive blocking line vs. Pasadena.  Pino had missed several games due to a reported asthmatic condition.

SAN FRANCISCO – Antwon Guidry, 6-0, 205, had an 84-yd PR for a TD, a 45-yd KOR, and 3 catches for 93 yds

FULLERTON – Sam Paulesco, 6-0, 185, who is having an awesome punting season, got off an 84-yarder vs. Mt. SAC.

VICTOR VALLEY – DB Kevin Stanley, 6-0, 170, had 116 yds on 4 PRs (1 a 50-yd TD), a 38-yd INT, 37 yds on 3 KORs and made 6 unassisted tackles against Chaffey in 44-48 shootout.

L.A. HARBOR – Fr. RB Joe Harris, 5-9, 160, rushed 15 times for 131, caught 3 for 27, returned 4 kickoffs 113 giving him 271 AP yds.
