October 5 (Friday)
NorCal Football Association
DeAnza 27 Marin 20
Two struggling teams with a combined record of 0-8. Someone has to win.
San Mateo 31 Laney 28
Two teams having their best seasons in a while. I like CSM's offense to take it.
October 6 (Saturday)
NorCal Football Association
Redwoods 34 Siskiyous 20
Redwoods is a balanced team. Siskiyous is struggling.
Fresno 41 Butte 14
There couldn't be a worse game for Chris Bruhn to have to sit out, but that is what he must to agianst one of the state's best teams.
Yuba 30 Delta 24
John West will lead the 49ers offense against a Delta defense that has struggled.
CCSF 52 Sacramento 27
Sac City's defense has been porous this season. That's not good against one of the top offense's in the state.
Foothill 34 Mendocino 21
Foothill must rebound from a tough loss to Fresno. I think they'll get it together and show why they beat Sac City. Waye Terry can hurt you.
Reedley 38 Los Medanos 18
This is a rebuilding year for Los Medanos. Reedley is a good team...Lots of talent.
Diablo Valley 31 Sequoias 20
DVC has a nice little offense. I think the defense can hold off Sequoias enough to win.
Sierra 37 Monterey Pen. 31
Two good offenses. Could go either way. I like Sierra to pull it out by one touchdown.
Santa Rosa 41 Chabot 20
Santa Rosa has a great squad. They should be okay against a Chabot team that has some talent, but isn't quite over the hump.
West Valley 34 San Jose 31
Great game, but I think WVC is on a roll after their tough start. Could go either way.
Modesto 38 American River 17
Modesto is a fine team. Lots of talent on both sides of the ball. Expect the Pirates to be a top team in NorCal all season.
Merced 27 Cabrillo 14
Merced should beat a struggling Cabrillo team.
Contra Costa 35 Gavilan 20
Contra Costa looks for 5-0. Gavilan hasn't done much this season, so the Comets should get their wish.
West Hills 34 Hartnell 24
West Hills is better than their record shows. Expect them to beat a Hartnell team that is a little down this year.
Western St. / Mtn. Division
Citrus 20 Santa Barbara 14
Could go either way, but SBCC's offense has struggled too much for me to think that they will score enough to win.
Bakersfield 42 E. Los Angeles 17
Its been a rough year for the Huskies. Expect BC to get things going, unlike a week ago.
Moorpark 27 Ventura 20
Toss up in Ventura County. I like Moorpark to continue the momentum they started last week. But Ventura could easlily take it.
LA Valley 24 Glendale 21
Also a toss up. I like LA Valley to pull it off, thanks to some great talent at the receiver positions.
Western St. / Pacific Division
Compton 45 LA Southwest 20
Compton is a great team. Don't be fooled by their record. LA Southwest was exploited by Canyons last week, a passing team like Compton.
LA Harbor 27 W. Los Angeles 17
Harbor has a lot of talent. Should be able to get past WLAC.
Allan Hancock 54 LA Pierce 6
Um...This one speaks for itself.
Canyons 52 Santa Monica 14
Like above....COC should be able to move the ball on SMC with ease.
San Bernardino Valley 28 Victor Valley 27
Great game. I like the athletes at SBVC to pull it off.
Grossmont 38 Mt. San Jacinto 24
Two good teams. I think Grossmont's offense makes the difference.
Southwestern 20 Antelope Valley 17
Another close one. Watch for SWC to show why they are a good team year in and year out.
SD Mesa 29 Desert 20
Two up and coming programs. Watch for Mesa to win, but not by much. Could go either way.
Fullerton 31 Long Beach 21
I like Long Beach, but their pass defense concerns me. Fullerton is one of the best kept secrets in SoCal.
El Camino 34 Saddleback 24
El Co may have gotten over the hump with the win over Palomar. Watch them roll from here.
Riverside 27 Golden West 13
RCC is a good team. Should be able to get past an improving GWC team.
Cerritos 24 Santa Ana 20
Great game. I think Cerritos just has a little more depth. Lots of talent on the field for this one.
Palomar 30 Mt. San Antonio 28
Can the Comets rebound from their loss to El Co? I think so.
Pasadena 38 Orange Coast 20
Pasadena has been rolling. Should continue, but OCC has surprised more than one team in recent times.
