PROSPECT REPORT: Dodge City CC

Dodge City CC plays in Kansas' Jayhawk Conference. Last year's team featured a DT named Torran Williams, who signed with LSU over Florida. This season's squad has a number of good looking prospects - including a DT who compares favorably to Williams. This is a look at their top prospects in 2001.

DODGE CITY

OT Joey Lippo
JC Top 101

(6-4, 325)
St. Augustine, FL
Comments: Initially offered by FSU out of HS as a center but didn't qualify. Moved him to right tackle last year but he's more of a guard. "The real deal who can play major D1 anywhere he wants to. Every day he's getting better." Central Florida, Rutgers, and more are recruiting.

DL Bernard Godfrey
JC Top 101

(6-2, 300)
Whiteville, NC
Comments: He is a monster according to his coach. Many believe he's better than Torran Williams, who signed with LSU last year. Runs exceptionally well for a guy who is 300 pounds. Missed the Butler Co. game with a slight ankle sprain. Recorded three sacks through first six games. Great motor and LSU is all over him along with Southern Miss. He would like to go back east if possible. Three-technique.

TE Russ Owens
(6-4, 250)
Goodland, KS
Comments: A very athletic TE with good hands. Runs in the 4.7 range. Weakness would be in the run game, so he'll have to improve here to get a big-time offer.

C Derek Olson
(6-2, 275)
Jetmore, KS
Comments: A bit undersized but a technician, superior work ethic, smart, great feet. Handles all of the adjustments up front in a three- and four-receiver offense. Runs legit 4.8 / 4.9 forty, too. Rutgers is highly interested right now as are most major 1AA schools.. 3.8 GPA doesn't hurt!

DE John Duggan
(6-5, 280)
Texas
Comments: Bounce-back from Purdue, who wanted him at OL. Looks like an NFL left tackle but he wants to play DE. Had recorded four sacks through first six games. Getting a lot of interest from Rutgers, Houston, Auburn, and others.
