Hutchinson defeated Fort Scott last weekend and will advance to the next round of the Jayhawk Conference playoffs. Wins haven't come easily this year, so this recent victory is sweet. Here is a report on three top prospects, who will give it their all against Garden City this coming weekend.

OL Cody Horton
6-4, 320
Hutchinson, KS

Comments: Playing strong guard. Has good, functional strength. Excels at run blocking; led team in pancakes. More mature at 24 years of age. Made All-Jayhawk Conference as a freshman last year. Houston, Rutgers, and K-State just some of the schools who have expressed interest. Horton will graduate in May.

*Look for a special feature on Horton soon.

OLB Jimmy Taylor
6-1, 215
Miami, FL

Comments: Leading the team in tackles, tackles for loss, sacks. Totals: 92 tackles and 8 sacks (4th in Conf.). "Could play safety in the box for teams running an 8-man front." Has lined up at OLB as well as both safety positions. Has speed in the 4.5 range. Oklahoma State is his biggest suitor right now. RS-Fr. who has 3 to play 3 and graduates in December.

DE DeMarcus Barner
6-1, 235
Noonan, Georgia

Comments: Very physical. Specimen in the weightroom. Played both ways (RB/DE) in a recent game. Ran a 10.7 hundred meters in high school. Can play stand-up linebacker, rush end, or OLB. Totals: 51 tackles and 7 sacks. Redshirt freshman with 3x3 eligibility. Southern Mississippi (offered), East Carolina, and Kentucky are among those interested. Eligible in December.
