SAN MATEO - Scoring at the highest clip in College of San Mateo's 80-year history, the current Bulldog football team leads all of the state's 70 teams in point production. But that's also making it difficult for their stars to run-up large individual statistical numbers.

CSM's total offense was 381 yards - nearly ten yards a play With game officials using a running clock already in the second quarter, CSM ran only 13 offensive plays after the intermission. The Bulldogs had only one series (three plays) in the fourth quarter.
CSM Seeks Title In Home Finale Saturday (Nov. 10): College of San Mateo, 6-2 overall and 3-0 in Coast Conference play, can clinch at least a tie for the Coast Conference championship in Saturday's 1 p.m. home finale with Monterey Peninsula (4-4, 1-2). The Bulldogs are one game ahead of West Valley (5-3, 2-1) and Hartnell (2-6, 2-1) with two games to play. CSM closes at West Valley on Friday afternoon, Nov. 16 (and has already defeated Hartnell).
CSM is unbeaten (4-0) in San Mateo and has scored at least 53 points in every home game this year. The Bulldogs are AVERAGING 58.0 points at home, including a school record 70 points vs. De Anza. All four games were televised throughout San Mateo County on Peninsula TV.

CSM on 500-point pace: If the Bulldogs continue their current 46.4 points per game pace through 11 games (including a bowl game), they will become the 16th team in California Community College history to score more than 500 points in one season. Their current pace is for 510 points. Only ten California teams have ever scored more than 510 points in a season.
Record is 557 points by CCSF in 12 games (46.42 points per game) last year, which included a bowl game and the state championship game. Best average is 49.27 (542 points in 11 games) by College of the Redwoods en route to the 1968 small division state championship (nine regular season games and two playoff games).
Bulldogs "bowl eligible: Currently holding a top five Northern California ranking and assured of a winning record, CSM is eligible for a berth in a California Community College football bowl game on Nov. 24 or Dec. 1. But the Bulldogs have not yet clinched a bowl berth.
