Canyons' P/PK Has Offer

College of the Canyons punter Jason Daily came very close to making the JC Top 101 list. This season he is averaging 42.2 yards on 39 punts and regularly amazes the game crowd with his hang time and distance.

He also handles kickoffs, which exit the endzone with regularity.

So it came as no surprise to learn that Daily has an official trip lined up November 23 to visit East Lansing, Mich. and the Michigan State Spartans, who have offered him a scholarship. "I may commit right there," confessed Daily.

Spartans coaches have also visited Daily in California to see him kick.

When he's not playing football, Daily is on the baseball diamond striking out opposing batters. A top baseball pitching prospect, Daily was drafted in the 40th round by the San Francisco Giants but he didn't sign a contract. His goal is to double-sport in college.

Other schools are calling but so far no other offers.

Daily will graduate in December.
