The scoring was started in the first quarter as Dean drove the ball down the field to Erie's 21-yard line. Linebacker Ben Bayer picked off a Willie Ponder pass and returned it 85 yards for the touchdown. On the very next Dean series, Nick Martone blocked the Bulldog punt and Ricky Jones returned it 25 yards for a touchdown. Incredibly, on the next Dean possession, Lowell Robinson returned another interception for a 48-yard touchdown to put the Kats up 21-0 in the first quarter.
As the second quarter opened, Adam Gaddie hit receiver Gordie Walker with a 66-yard strike to make the score 27-0. The ensuing PAT was fumbled. The scoring for the second quarter was closed out when Jason Fralicker hit a 42-yard field goal to make the halftime score 30-0. Dean College actually out gained Erie in the first half and held the ball for 19 minutes to ECC's 11 minutes.
The third quarter was a field position game as it was played scoreless. The Kats did get on the board again when Walker caught his second touchdown of the game from 11-yards out to make the score 36-0.
Erie's running game dominated the second half as Terrance Graves carried the ball 19 times for 69 yards, all in the second half. Anthony Andrews also carried 5 times for 37 yards and closed the scoring with a 9 yard run to make the final score 45-0. Neither player had carried the ball all season.
Walker finished the game with 2 receptions for 77 yards and two TD. Erie's defense dominated Dean in the second half and held them to minus 36 yards. Erie out gained Dean 240-82 for the game.
Linebacker Chris Wooten, playing with a injured shoulder, garnered 10 tackles, including 5 for loss and one sack. He also forced one fumble.
The Kats (5-2, 4-1) face their biggest test of the season as they face Morrisville next week in Jim Ball Stadium to determine supremacy of the Western Davison of the Northeast Conference. Kickoff is scheduled for 1pm.
