NOTES: Rieves enters his sixth season as the fourth winningest football coach in Kilgore College history…Kilgore, with 16 conference titles, is the state's winningest junior college football program with 426 victories…Only three defensive starters return from a unit that ranked second in the SWJCFC in total defense (263 ypg), and one -- CB Ronnie Powell -- likely will be shifted to safety. Powell ranked second in the SWJCFC last year with six interceptions….LB transfer Kirksey made 225 tackles and 32 TFLs during two highly decorated seasons at Lufkin High…Sophomores Steven Prince (Spring Hill) and Clint Toon (Kilgore) are battling for the starting QB slot….TE Ernie Bernal accepted an appointment to West Point, opening up the position for either Brian Carlson or Marc Jones...P Cohen returns after averaging 40.1 yards per kick.
