Big, Physical Receiver with Speed

Marcel Reece possesses a very rare combination of size, speed and physicality. At 6-3, 235 pounds, he maintains 4.4 speed and has been called a 'freak of nature.' Reece played in seven games last fall at Chaffey College before transferring to El Camino for this season.

At Chaffey, he recorded 25 catches for 600 yards and seven touchdowns. He plans to graduate in December of '05 from El Camino and show up at his college of choice in the spring of '06 with three years to play two.

As a senior at Hesperia, CA, Marcel Reese was a first team all-league selection in football, basketball and track. On the gridiron, he had 41 receptions for 989 yards and 11 touchdowns. His best 400 time in track is a 49.8.

Reece had many reasons to transfer from Chaffey College to El Camino after last season. "I wanted some more exposure," Reece said. "El Camino has a good reputation of putting players out. Everything is starting to come together for me here."

The added exposure seems to be helping the wideout in a major way. He is claiming major interest from all of his top schools. "My favorites are Utah, Oregon State, Cal, UCLA, Washington, Washington State, Arizona, and Kentucky. I am kind of leaning towards Utah because I like their offense and coaches. I speak with the staff there every week. Oregon State is right behind them. I will be planning my visits to those two schools real soon."

Reece has yet to receive an offer, but he should have many options in the near future. "I am just waiting it out and seeing what happens. I expect good things to happen. I want to see what the best offer is so I'll be keeping my options open."

He takes pride in all facets of the game, especially blocking. "I am a physical wide receiver and I know that blocking is a major part of the game. I love blocking for running backs and my other teammates. I feel I bring a new dimension to the game with my size, speed, strength and blocking ability."

Reece is unsure of his stats on the season, but knows that against Mt. SAC he had seven catches for 150 yards and a touchdown. El Camino takes on Palomar, this Saturday.
