As a senior in high school, he had 80 tackles and three interceptions on defense. On offense, at receiver, he had 30 receptions and two touchdowns. Stanley was named second team all-district.
There is a possibility he could graduate in December of '05, but most likely he will graduate in May of '06 and show up at his college of choice that fall with three years to play two.
Stanley plays at middle linebacker, outside linebacker, rush end, and strong safety for Victor Valley. "It really does not matter to me where I play," Stanley said. "But, if I had to choose one position, it would be safety."
The defender feels he can get it done at any spot on the field he is placed at. "I have a nose for the ball. That is probably my biggest strength. I am good at shedding blocks at the line of scrimmage. If needed, I can also cover well in space. Overall, I consider myself a playmaker."
He has no favorites in the recruiting game. "I am hearing from schools like Nevada, Idaho State, East Carolina, Oregon State, and Cincinnati. I like those schools, plus Fresno State and Virginia."
The sophomore has no offers yet and has scheduled no visits. This season, Stanley has 55 tackles, three forced fumbles, two interceptions, and one sack.
He is thinking of majoring in Sociology.
