Peregrin Recruitment Gains Momentum

Quarterback Thomas Peregrin of Bakersfield College has only been playing the position for two and a half years. He was an invited walk-on to the University of Nevada-Reno, but opted to head to Sierra College in Rocklin, California, before making his way to Bakersfield.

After two strong seasons, he has the opportunity to play college football and is looking to visit a couple schools in December.

As a senior, at Bishop Manogue High School in Reno, Nevada, Thomas Peregrin was 69 of 106 for 1,490 yards and 26 touchdowns. He threw six interceptions.

As a freshman, he threw for 1,960 yards and 12 touchdowns. Peregrin was named honorable mention all-conference. This year he had 1,700 yards passing and 14 touchdowns (two rushing). He has thrown six picks.

Peregrin will most likely graduate in May of '06 and show up at his school of choice that fall with three years to play two. However, he is a full qualifier and could leave sooner.

He feels he has the skills to be a signal caller on the next level. "I am a smart player and a real leader on the field," says Peregrin. "I had a good high school coach that fed me a lot of knowledge on the quarterback position."

He is completely open with regards to recruiting, but a couple of schools are showing solid interest. "I should be taking a visit to Western Michigan in the first week of December and I am also hoping to schedule one with Toledo for December. I do not have a favorite."
