Sequoias Phenom AJ Jackson

Playing with the top JC quarterback in 2005 had its benefits. For College of the Sequoias (Calif) receiver A.J. Jackson, it provided plenty of opportunities to score. With Ole Miss signee Brent Schaeffer calling the signals for the Giants, Jackson found himself on the receiving end of an eye-popping 19 touchdown passes, nearly one for every two receptions he had.

On the year, he had 42 receptions for 689 yards.

And while schools from all over the country were interested in Schaeffer, they found themselves interested in Jackson.

"I'm getting a couple of letters.  Its all open right now.  But I'd love to go to Ole Miss.  USC is another school I like a lot," said Jackson.

A Florida native, Jackson received interest from several schools in the Sunshine State, but since he knew he was JC bound, few schools showed significant interest, other than North Carolina.

"But they knew I had my mind made up that junior college was the best thing for me," said Jackson.

This time around, Jackson figures to have the interest raised significantly, as he stands at 6-6, 226, size that has several schools drooling.

"I'm like (USC All-American) Dwayne Jarrett in my size and the way I play football," said Jackson.

While Jackson said he prefers the South, his time in California has been one that he's enjoyed.

"I love the weather here.  Man, its great," said Jackson.

Still, he doesn't have any plans to make a decision until December.

"I'll sign in December and then I'll have three years to play two," said Jackson.

He hopes to attend the Combine next month in Southern California.
