Mission Players of the Week

Pasadena City College quarterback David Pittman, Saddleback College linebacker Jake Killeen, and Mt. San Antonio College wide receiver/kick returner Travis Lee have been named Week 8 Mission Football Conference Players of the Week for their performances on the field.

Pittman (QB, 5-11, 189, Fr., Snellville, GA/Brookwood HS) (PHOTO) set two more PCC records in the Lancers 45-27 loss to Palomar. Pittman broke his own completion record and threw the most attempts ever by a Lancer quarterback. He was 32 of 53 for 344 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also rushed for 47 yards in 15 attempts and compiled 391 yards total offense to take offensive player of the week honors.

Killeen (LB, 6-4, 225, So., Reno, NV/Reno HS) recorded five of Saddleback's seven sacks in the Gauchos 38-6 win over Golden West to be named defensive player of the week. He posted 8 total tackles (7 solo) against the Rustlers, six of those tackles were for lost yardage (-46).

Lee (WR, 5-9, 165, So., Thomas Jefferson HS) is named special teams player of the week for his game-winning 65-yard punt return for a touchdown in Mt. SAC 24-17 win at Riverside. Lee totaled 215 all-purpose yards, including 4 receptions for 77 yards, 2 kick returns for 50 yards, and 5 punt returns for 88 yards.

Nick Nelson, QB, 6'2, 230, So, Tesoro HS - Nelson led all rushers with 7 carries for 103 yards and two touchdowns (runs of 19 & 17) and passed for 126 yards and another TD before being removed from the game just three minutes into the second half.

Steve Melton, WR, 6'0, 190, So, San Clemente HS - Melton led all receivers with five catches for 81 yards, including a 32 yard TD reception in the second quarter.
