He's there to finish the work necessary for his A.A. and be able to continue his career in college football.
"I graduate in December so I can leave and be ready in the spring," said Jones, who was just named to the Midwest All-Region team. "I'm pretty wide open right now, but I'd like to play at South Florida."
The Bulls are the leader for the Florida native but he's also hearing from Southern Miss, New Mexico, Memphis, Kansas and Washington. Western Illinois, Eastern Illinois and Northern Iowa have also shown a good deal of interest in him.
"I don't have any offers just yet but I think more will come when the season ends," said Jones.
Jones didn't receive any interest following his senior year but not because his grades weren't in order. The athletic corner suffered an injury his junior year that caused him to miss his entire senior season.
"I didn't receive any letters but I wanted to keep playing so I came out here," said Jones. "I think I'm an athlete and I can play anywhere on the field. Wherever they need me, I'll play. I like cornerback though."
Jones also wants to return kicks in college and last weekend he had a 97-yard kickoff return he took in for a score.
He is hoping to take all of his official visits and said he wouldn't be making a hasty decision.
"I want the best offer for me for playing time and school, not just the best school," said Jones.
He will have three years to play two.
