SoCal's Top 'Backer: Vuna Tuihalamaka

El Camino (Calif.) College linebacker Vuna Tuihalamaka (6-0, 225), is sitting on a pair of offers, from Oregon State and Iowa State, and he could add a third school to the mix this week.

"I've been hearing a lot from Arizona and they're supposed to visit my house on Thursday," said Tuihalamaka.  "They could offer me then."

Tuihalamaka said he also plans to take an official visit to Arizona the second weekend in December, though there is a good possibility it could be moved to later in the month.

"If we make it to the state championship game, I have to change it," said Tuihalamaka.

Oregon State will be getting a visit from the four-star linebacker on December 16th, as the season will be done by then.

"I don't really know a favorite right now," said Tuihalamaka.  "I just want to take some trips.  I'll sign in February and I graduate in May."

Tuihalamaka prepped at Hawthorne (Calif.) High, graduating in 2005, but didn't have any offers, forcing him to go to El Camino.

Now, he has company from a family member in the recruiting circles, as his cousin Apaiata Tuihalamaka is one of the top prep linebackers in the nation and is a soft verbal to Oregon.  He also visited Arizona.

"Nah, we haven't talked about playing in college together, but that would be cool," said Tuihalamaka.

This weekend, Tuihalamaka and his Warrior teammates will take on Bakersfield College for the Southern California berth in the state championship game.
