Reedley QB Drew Branch Update

Reedley College QB Drew Branch (6-3, 210) had a solid season for the Tigers and now is ready to focus on recruiting.

He's close to setting up offers with a couple schools and he gave us his thoughts on his season and some of his thoughts on the schools recruiting him.

"We were up and down this year," Branch told JCFootball.com.  "We started off strong, we were 4-0, but we finished 6-4 because we lost some really close games in our conference toward the end of the year.

"There were definitely some games we could have won if thing had broken for us right, but we just didn't make the plays when we had the chance."

Branch finished the season by passing for 2,100 yards with 16 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

"I'm more of a drop-back passer, but I can run when I need to," said Branch who claims a 4.65 40 time.  "I like to pick apart defenses and make them pay when we have the chance."

On the recruiting front, Branch is hearing from Mississippi State and Northern Arizona the most right now and both are talking about setting up visits.

"Mississippi State is supposed to be here this week so we'll see if they want to set up a visit or not," Branch said.  "They haven't offered yet, but they said they would if I end up visiting.  I'm hoping that happens.  We'll see.

"Northern Arizona has called a few times and they requested film so I'm not sure what's going on with them, but I'm open to them too."

Branch will graduate in December and hopes to be a mid-year transfer, but he's willing to transfer in May if things work out that way.
