Summers commits to Rebels

Just last week, Laney RB Frank Summers reeled in his first offer and he took an official visit to UNLV and check out the campus. On his visit he told the coaching staff he was ready to play for the Rebels and he'll ink his name on the dotted line on December 20th.

"I committed on my visit there," Summers told JCFootball.com. "It was a great visit. I got along with the staff and the players and the facilities were some of the best in the country."

Despite an ankle injury, Summers still managed to post over 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns for Laney and now is ready to move on with the rest of his career.

"I'm excited to get things moving forward," Summers said. "The head coach and I sat down and we were talking and he said 'you know how we feel about you...how do you feel about us?'

"That's when I told him I would love to be apart of what they have going on there and that I would be there in the spring.

"All the coaches were really happy I committed and congratulated me and said they want to get to work fast so we can have a great season."

Summers will graduate with his two-year degree in December and will be on campus for the start of spring quarter and be available for spring practices.
