Recruiting picking up for Bashford

After a successful season along the line at Fullerton College, OL Jason "J.T" Bashford (6-4, 285) says he's ready to move on and he's garnered two offers and is waiting to find out if a third might be on the way.

"We finished 5-5 which was kind of disappointing, but I had a good year individually," Bashford told JCFootball.com. "I worked really hard on my footwork over the summer and I think it really paid off this year.

"I was voted All-Conference and I think I really improved on my run-blocking."

Bashford boasts a 495-pound bench press and a 685-pound squat.

"My squat is what really helped my run-blocking," Bashford said. "It gave me a strong base and helped me fire off quickly and get into my man. I asked my offensive coordinator last year what I needed to do to get better and he really wanted me to work on my lower-body strength and my footwork."

On the recruiting front, Bashford lists offers from Portland State and Southeast Missouri and said that Idaho State was close to offering before a coaching change was made.

"The only coaches left at Idaho State are the recruiting coaches so they said I just need to be patient and see what the new coaching staff has to say," Bashford said. "I'm going to Portland State on January 12th and Southeast Missouri on January 19th.

"I'll wait and see what Idaho State has to say, but I'm not going to wait forever."

Bashford will have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
