Boudreaux brings cajun-style to SoCal

One of the top maulers up front in the state of California this year is Compton College's Talon Boudreaux (6-5, 298). He loves to play the game and get after it and he's hearing from several four-year schools that are looking to find a player with the proper mental attitude and intensity they're looking for.

"Yeah, I like to get after it," a quietly-confident Boudreaux told JCFootball.com. "I feel I can run-block and pass-block good already, but I'm working hard on my technique to become more consistent."

Boudreaux prepped in Louisiana and came to Compton after he talked to the coaching staff about playing right away.

"They recruited me and said they wanted me to come in and play right away," Boudreaux said. "I'm playing guard and I like all the hitting we get to do inside. I could play outside, but I'm a better fit inside."

On the recruiting front, Boudreaux is hearing from several programs including Oregon, Nebraska and Iowa State.

"I'm open to everyone, I don't really have any favorites right now," Boudreaux said.

Boudreaux has the size to play D-1 ball already, but his strength – 405 bench max – and speed numbers – 5.0 forty time – show he'll ready to play right away.

"I love getting to the second level on running plays and blocking guys downfield," Boudreaux said. "That's the fun part of playing line. You get to hit all the time and go hard all the time."

Boudreaux will have three to play two and expects to finish his two-year degree in December.

We'll have more from him over the next few months.
