"We have several guys who are already getting recruited pretty hard right now," White said. "We also have some young guys who we're going to count on a lot this year and they should be some really productive guys for us.
"We're going to be pretty strong on defense and on offense we have a lot of good players coming back, but the big key for us on that side will be developing a quarterback."
White started by talking about the offensive prospects and most notably, what is probably his biggest prospect…
OL Abdul Kuyateh – "He came here as a defensive lineman and we converted him. He went to West Georgia University and they tried to make him play defensive line and he didn't want to do that so he came to us and we converted him and he's become just a really good offensive lineman for us.
"The scary thing is he's still sort of learning the position. Last year was his first year on offense so he's just going to get better and better.
"He's got that nasty attitude that you love in an offensive lineman and he loves the weight room and works really hard and is very, very coachable. Coming from the defensive side, he has the athleticism you want for a guy to pull and get out on running plays and still has very good strength.
"He'll graduate in December and will have two years to play two."
OL Nestor Cruz – "We have him at tackle right now, but we may move him inside to center because that's the only starter we lost and we think Nestor could really solidify that spot for us.
"He was All-Conference last year and he's got a great work ethic and he's an outstanding athlete and he's really smart and has a good football I.Q."
WR Juawain Spurlock – "He had an exceptional spring for us. He's gotten so much stronger. He's still a little on the small side (6-0, 170), but he runs really well and he was a former quarterback in high school so that really helps him in reading defenses and makes him just an excellent player."
WR Jahmeel Hobson – "He started out at New Mexico State and had a grade issue so he came to us and we're really happy he's going to be here for us.
"He's really quick. He's about 5-11, 175 and he's got great speed. He ran the fastest time for us ever at the school. He put up back to back 4.31 and 4.32 and there were some four-year schools standing right next to me timing as well and they were pretty impressed with him as well. It was pretty amazing to see it in person."
S Maurice Harvey – "Mo is the cousin of a player I had here back in 1990 (Ben Jenkins) and he called me and said he wanted to come out and play out here.
"He went to Astronaut High School in Titusville, Florida and was a very good player there, but we thought it would take him a year to learn the free safety position before he could actually contribute and start. Well, we were wrong. He came right in and was really impressive and he just took the starting role from pretty much the second he stepped on campus.
"He's really aggressive and he likes going after the ball. He won't play the receiver, he plays the ball and wants to take it away rather than be a big-hitter back there. He can still be a good hitter, but he'd rather take the ball away and give it back to the offense.
"He's a real low-maintenance guy and just a real good kid. He was All-Conference in 2006 as well."
LB Andrew Dove – "We play a 3-5-3 defense and we really need an excellent guy right in the middle of that defense and Andrew certainly was that for us last year. If you only watched our league games, you wouldn't have seen him play for us last year because he had a calcification under his patella tendon so we got that worked on and he wasn't able to play in the second half of the season, but he's an outstanding linebacker and player.
"He committed to Bethune Cookman out of high school and didn't like it there so he came to us in late July, I mean it was like a week before camp, and he just walked in and asserted himself and he started the first five games which, to me, is really impressive.
"He's 6-1, 225 and he can really run and hit. He's a very aggressive player and he's already got a lot of D-1 interest. After Abdul and Mo, he's probably our next guy with the most D-1 attention."
DE Fred James – "He's 6-3, 260 and he started four or five games for us last year. He came to us from Florida and was a referral from a friend of the family (Kerry Brown) who played for me back in 1992.
"He'll play strongside end for us and we got a lot of production out of him and we expect him to be even more productive for us next year."
DT Terrance Montgomery – "He just arrived this spring, but he's going to be a guy we count on a lot. With our defense, we need a big guy right in the middle of the line and he's going to be a guy for us with his size (6-2, 295) that makes a lot of plays and plays an important role for us.
"We lost Ricky Hope to graduation this year, so we'll sort of be a nose tackle by committee this year, but Terrance is a guy we really expect a lot out of.
"He's got a really interesting story. He signed with West Virginia out of high school – he's from Pittsburgh – but he didn't qualify, so he went into the military reserve and now he's married and has a kid. I'm really interested to see what he has to offer on the field."
