Nassau College Preview

Nassau College typically produces a handful of D-1 prospects and in 2007 head coach John Anselmo has several on both sides of the ball that bare watching. Read on to see what players he thinks can make a difference for his team this year and at the next level in the very near future.

OT Tony Boyce "He's probably our top guy this year. He's 6-6, 360 and just a tough and athletic lineman. He could play guard or tackle at the next level, but we'll have him at right tackle and put him with one of our big incoming freshman and be really physical on that side of the ball."

OT Rene Rivera "He's our other tackle and he's really good and really athletic. He has excellent size (6-5, 300). He likes to get after it with guys and he plays with a nasty streak."

RB Rahoo Walker "He's a solid running back. We like him a lot. He runs really low to the ground and has great vision. He had a good season for us at tailback last year. He had over 300 yards and five touchdowns and we expect big things from him this year because he really won't be sharing time with guys like he did last year."

RB Jahmaine Rodriguez "He's another solid player and we use him in a lot of different ways. He can play running back and we split him out wide a lot. We like to move him to the slot and just get the ball into his hands and let him make plays."

DE Shane McKeen "He just flies off the edge and we like how he can make plays from sideline to sideline. He's got good size (6-4, 245) and he makes a lot of plays and he's really intense. He's got a great motor."

DE Hugh D'Imperio – "He's a playmaker plain and simple. He's a transfer from Michigan State so you know he can play ball. He's strong at the point and he's got a good motor too and that's so important for a player that plays where he does."

DE Michael Gee "He's the third of our three-headed monster at defensive end. All three have D-1 talent and he's another one that just makes plays when we have him in there."

LB Tyrine Singleton "He's a really talented football player and he's an outstanding athlete. He runs really well (4.5) and he's got great size (6-3, 230) and he makes plays all over the field. He played a lot for us last year, but we had some really good linebackers so he didn't get on the field as much as he probably would have if we didn't have the talented players at his position."

CB Avery Grant "He's a big-time player. He just makes plays in any defense we throw out there. He's got good size (6-0, 185) and speed (4.45) and he's physical and just has excellent instincts and ball-skills. He'll be a big-play guy for us on defense."
