El Camino Keeps Top Spot

El Camino was tabbed pre-season number one and the mighty Warriors stood up to the lofty predictions by stomping Grossmont 56-13 in the season opener for both teams. Most of the other early games followed form with only a couple upsets along the way.

Butler barely won their opener vs. Kilgore and then had to play tough defense to down Dodge City 23-0.  Pearl River came out of the blocks fast to stuff Miss. Delta 50-10.  Bakersfield was extremely impressive in their 35-21 win over always tough Reedley and will be severely tested again against El Camino this weekend, in a battle of one vs. two.
