OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL EFFORTS (10-2-02)

Here's JC Grid-Wire's weekly look around that nation at some of last weekend's top performances. Joliet WR Kelvin Hayden was back in action and put up huge numbers. Fullerton fireplug linebacker Adam Lancisero recorded 18 tackles, a career high. And Dodge City RB Gerard Jackson continues to amaze. Here's the full scoop...

QUARTERBACKS

ROCHESTER – QB Chris Huewe, 6-1, 187, fired the long ball against North Dakota St. going 13 of 21 for 418 yds and 5 TDs.
VICTOR VALLEY – Dylan Lockwood, 6-5, 190, was 27 of 42 for 398 and 4 TDs in 56-42 win over San Diego Mesa
PASADENA – John Rattay, 6-3, 205, was 19 of 28 for 359 and 4 TDs.  The 359 was 8 yds short of PCC game record, but he did set a record for passing yds in one half with 344.
SADDLEBACK – Brock Farrel, 6-0, 185, Fr., went 22 of 38 for 338 and a TD in win over Riverside.
SHASTA – Kyle Nelson, 6-0, 200, completed 13 of 20 for 324 yds and 4 scores, 34-24 over Redwoods.
BLINN – QB Dane King, 6-1, 180 Fr., set new conf. records for completions and attempts by hitting on 31 of 50 for 313-1.
PIMA – Backup QB Danny Camacho, 6-1, 185, brought the Storm from 2 TDs down by hitting on 24 of 36 for 299 yds. Starter Blake Kinart sat out after suffering a concussion the previous week.
CANYONS – Kyle Bauer, 6-1, 185, completed 16 of 30 tosses for 286 yds and 5 TDs, each to a different receiver.
JOLIET – Jimmy Peyton, 6-3, 221, Fr., went 13 of 24 for 284 yds and 5 TDs in win over Grand Rapids
NAVARRO – QB J.B. Stone completed 24 of 37 for 279 in a 31-24 loss to Kilgore.
SAN FRANCISCO – Jason Swanson, 6-1, 185, Fr., completed 19 of 21 for 271 and a TD in 59-0 win over West Valley.
SNOW – Paul Peterson, 6-0, 185, went 30 of 46 for 243 and 2 TDs, despite sustaining a concussion on first play of game.
SAN DIEGO MESA – Mike Rathe, 6-2, 210, threw 5 TD passes vs. Victor Valley, but it wasn't enough.

RUNNING BACKS

GLENDALE – Willie Latham, 5-8, 170, Fr. zipped 221 yds on 36 carries and scored 4 times plus a 2-pointer in 42-34 win over
DODGE CITY – Gerard Jackson, 5-10, 235, leading rusher in Kansas Jucos, gained 210 yds on 32 carries,  34-21 over Ft. Scott.
FRESNO – Earl Charles, 6-0, 205, 26 carries for 194 yds and TD runs of 9, 44 and 6 yds.
MODESTO – John Benton, 5-9, 185, scampered 174 yds on 17 efforts for 4 TDs in  56-7 win over Hartnell.
GARDEN CITY – Tyson Thompson, 6-2, 210, had 21 lugs for 162 yds and TDs of 3, 4, 54 and 5 yds and DeAngelo Green, 5-9,195, Fr., 24 carries for 128 yds and a pair of scores, 46-14 over Independence.
CITRUS, who had Quinton Ganther, 5-10, 195, Fr., roll up 159 yds on 28 carries and two scores.
L.A. VALLEY – Willie Jackson, 6-2, 202, had 34 carries for 158 yds and 3 TDs in win over ELAC.

RECEIVERS

ROCHESTER – Derek Willis, 5-10, 165, caught 7 passes for a whopping 315 yds and all 5 of Huewe's TDs.
HANCOCK – receivers Joseph Dally and Brad Sorenson caught 11 for 103 and 7 for 214 in 32-26 loss to Compton
N.W. MISSISSIPPI – Fr. WR John Harris, 6-1, 180 caught 11 passes for 204 yds and 4 TDs, 35-24 over Delta.
JOLIET – Kelvin Hayden, 6-0, 195, caught 9 passes for 195 and a score and has 30 for 571- 4 TDs in 4 games.
MONTEREY – Brian Chambers, 5-8, 160, caught 14 passes for 183 yds and 1 TD in loss to Delta.
TYLER – Paris Hamilton, 5-10, 216, caught 4 passes for 149 yds and a TD as Apaches overcame a 19-point deficit to Blinn.
EAST L.A. – Jonathon Ligons, caught 8 passes for 124 yds in 31-20 loss to LA Valley.
COFFEYVILLE – Dustin Bromley, 6-1, 190, had 9 catches for 110 yds in brutal defensive battle with Butler County
WEST L.A. – Chico Mackey, caught 12 passes for 107 yds in loss to LASW.
LACKAWANNA – After 4 games TE Dave Kenner, 6-4, 260, is the leading receiver with 15 catches for 151 yds and 3 TDs.
JONES – Alonzo Nix, 5-11, 175, caught 2 passes for 103 yds and 2 TDs giving him 12-267-3-22.3 stats in 3 games.
MT. SAN ANTONIO – WR Delanie Walker, 6-3, 210, Fr., 6 catches for 129 yds and 2 TDs.

DEFENSE

S.W. MISSISSIPPI – LB Damien Huren, 6-2, 220, 10 tackles, 2 for loss, a sack and a 35-yd interception for a TD, 20-2 vs. NE Mississippi.
VENTURA – Will Poole, 6-0, 190, had 5 solo stops, 3 assists, caused a fumble, broke up 4 passes and 2 picks.  He's a CB.
HANCOCK – James McCrimmon 5-10, 190, DB, 7 unassisted tackles, 5 assists, 3 Ts for loss, a sack, fumble rec and 2 INTs.
MOORPARK – Joey Dinapoli, 5-11, 185 DB, Fr., had 10 tackles, 7 solo, 3 hurries, 2 PBUs and a pick, 21-14 over Bakersfield.
COFFEYVILLE – DE Wali Muhammad, 6-3, 235, 4 sacks, 3 QB hurries, 5 tackles for loss, 13 tackles and a fumble recovery, DE Tony McClain, 6-3, 265, a sack, 2 hurries, 2 tackles for loss and 8 stops.  Darrell Shropshire, 6-4, 285 DT dominated the middle with 9 tackles, 3 for losses.
EAST MISS – Ken Hollis, 6-2, 242, LB, 6 solo stops and 7 assists vs. Itawamba.
ORANGE COAST – LB Dan Steinau, 6-0, 200, 10 tackles, 1 deflect and a 64-yd interception for a TD
FULLERTON – LB Adam Lancisero, 5-9, 215, had a game and career-high 18 tackles (8 solo), 3 for loss and a sack.
GARDEN CITY – Luke Stone, FS, 6-2, 196, had a big game knocking the QB down 8 times, sacking him once, recovering a fumble and deflecting 3 passes.
L.A. SOUTHWEST – Leo Noble had 5 sacks and 5 hurries in win over West LA.
TRINITY VALLEY – Michael Ledet, 5-11, 210 DB, had 9 tackles and 2 sacks in 28-21 win over Cisco.
GEORGIA MILITARY – Brian Staley, 5-11, 180, CB had 4 interceptions in first two games.
SEQUOIAS – DB Shaun Laird 5-10, 155, 3 interceptions, a fumble recovery and 6 tackles vs. Yuba.
SAN MATEO – LB Sione Taufoou, 6-0, 225, had 14 tackles and recovered 2 fumbles in 21-7 win over Merced.

OTHERS

EAST MISS – P/PK Will Mosley punted 5 times for 42.8 avg. and kicked a 38-yd FG in 23-13 win over Itawamba.
ANTELOPE VALLEY –  Jerome Wright, 6-0, 175, caught 5 passes for 99 yds, setting a school reception record, carried 6 times for 37 yds and a TD, returned 2 punts for 69 (57-yd TD) and 4 KOR for 103, 44-26 over Desert.  K Carlos Nunez, 5-11, 185 Fr. had 22, 27, 31 and 21-yd FGs and 4 punts avg. 41.3
MT. SAN JACINTO – K Marty Hysen, 5-11, 180, kicked a school-record 50-yd field goal in 17-6 win over Southwestern.
MT. SAN ANTONIO – Dom Milano, has a 42.8 yd avg. on his first 17 boots.
FULLERTON – Byungwoo Yun, toed 8 of 9 PATs and all 8 of his field goal attempts with a long of 46.
ROCHESTER – K Lloyd Rhys has tallied 57 points in 6 games for the Jackets, including 7 field goals.
BLINN - Lance Lane 5-9, 165, P, boomed 9 punts for a 50-yd avg. and leads the SWJCFC with a 44.7 avg. after 20 boots.
