This is JC Grid-Wire's weekly look at last weekend's top performances around the nation. Garden City LB Marcus West had a hand in 20 tackles vs. Fort Scott. Chaffey RB John Bogarin lugged the leather 23 times for 168 yards and a pair of scores. QUARTERBACKS

MOORPARK – Tony Williams, 15 of 24 for 321 and 5 TDs of 5, 15, 20, 66 and 72 yards.

EAST LOS ANGELES – Thomas McDougall hit on 28 of 38 for 313 yards and a pair of TDs in 30-13 loss to Glendale.

ROCHESTER – QB Chris Huewe, 6-1, 187, added to his 418 yard 5 TD performance of a week ago, going 15 of 28 for 305 and 3.

SACRAMENTO – Emiliano Salazar, 6-2, 193, put up his 4th straight 300+ game. He went 19 of 29 for 304 and 2 TDs, vs. Merced.

PIMA – QB Blake Kinart, 6-3, 205, returned after sitting out one game due to a concussion the previous week and went 20 of 39 for 287 yards.  Kinart also handles the punting chores and was leading the WSFL with a 44.0 avg. after 15 punts.

GROSSMONT – Tanner Engstrand, 6-1, 180, went 22 of 29 for 286 yards and 3 tallies and ran 3 times for 22 and a TD.

FRESNO – Mark Hetherington, 6-2, 210, was 16 of 30 for 285 and a pair of tallies.  (4 games – 55-101-938-11-2)

SAN FRANCISCO – Freshman Jason Swanson, 6-1, 185, went 18 of 32 for 267 and 2 TDs. This follows a 10 of 11 for 185 and 2 TD effort the previous week vs. San Jose.  Swanson is now 62 of 88 for 866 and 6 TDs in 4 games.

RUNNING BACKS

RIVERSIDE – Freshman Naimi Tinanui, 5-10, 205, carried 28 times for 264 with a 70-yard TD run in win over Fullerton.

NAVARRO – Carl Steward rushed for 233 yards on 34 carries and scored twice in 31-21 win over Blinn.

COFFEYVILLE – Brandon Jacobs, 6-4, 245, went over 200 again with 222 in 18 trips and TDs of 28, 43 and 68 yards.

GARDEN CITY – Kay Jay Harris, 6-0, 238, went in the game in the 2nd half and zipped for 197 yards on 19 carries with 3 TDs.

WEST HILLS – Dwayne Wright is healthy again and ran for 184 yards on 28 lugs and 1 TD, in shutout of Hartnell

FRESNO – Earl Charles, 6-0, 195, carried 32 times for 185 yards and 3 scores.  He now has 114 for 735 and 9 TDs.  Teammate Joe Tomasello, 6-0, 220, contributed 114 yards in 12 carries and a pair of scores.

MT. SAN JACINTO – Freshman Jonathan Morgan, 5-11, 200, carried 16 times for 176 yards in win over Victor Valley.

KILGORE -  RB Alton Stoker, 5-8, 170, rushed for 170 yards and 2 touchdowns vs. Cisco.

CHAFFEY – John Bogarin, 5-9, 190, lugged the leather 23 times for 168 yards and a pair of scores.

CISCO – Douglas Sherman carried 19 times for 166 yards, including an 80-yard run

NASSAU – Sean Treasure, 6-0, 180, had 18 carries for 146 yards in 29-7 win over Dean.

BAKERSFIELD – Josh Lopes, 30 trips for 138 yards and a TD.  He is 5-10, 180.  Gades edged Ventura 30-28

MESA – Previous week vs. Eastern Arizona, Willie Henry, 5-11, 180, carried 10 times for 133 yards and scored 3 times.

RECEIVERS

ROCHESTER – Derek Willis, 5-10, 165, caught 7 passes for 315 yards and 5 TDs two weekends ago, then came back with 10 for 222 and a pair of scores, plus an 84-yard kickoff return for another vs. Ridgewater.

PIMA - Marc Mathieu, 6-1, 187, caught 11 passes for 198 yards in loss to Dixie.

JONES – Alonzo Nix, 5-11, 175, recorded 5 catches for 168 yards and 1 TD.

FRESNO – Willie Johnson, 6-5, 205, picked up 159 yards and a 67-yard TD on just 5 catches.  He has 24 grabs for 487, 8 TDs, and a 20.3 average per catch.

MOORPARK – Barry Tolli, 6-2, 205, made 6 catches for 156 yards and 2 TDs of 15 and 66 yards.

CHAFFEY – Freshman Cody Sorenson, 6-1, 195, caught 7 passes for 143 yards.

REEDLEY – Bryant Stewart caught 7 passes for 124 yards and TDs of 19 and 66 yards.

WEST HILLS –Da-bar Fluellen caught 6 passes for 119 yards.

GLENDALE – Daniel White, 6-0, 200, caught 5 passed for 140 yards and a score vs. Snow.

DEFENSE

GARDEN CITY – LB Marcus West 6-1, 230, had a hand in 20 tackles, 10 solo, and had 5 of the team's 8 sacks for minus 42 yards caused a fumble, and knocked down the QB 6 times, in 34-19 victory over Fort Scott.  He also broke two face masks.

N.E. OKLAHOMA  - Robert Jones, 6-0, 190, CB, 4 unassisted tackles, 7 deflected passes, an interception and 2 KORs for 64 yards. CB Lenell Lawrence blocked a punt for a TD, had 6 solo stops and deflected 2 passes.

MISS. DELTA – DB Taroris "Bo" Cox, 6-2, 195, made 2 interceptions and returned one for a 25-yard TD

CERRITOS – LB Justin Burks, 6-1, 230, recorded 14 tackles (6 solo), 2 hurries, and a sack. His teammate, LB Marcus Miller, had 15 (7 solo), 3 QB hurries and a sack.

EL CAMINO's "Big-3" LB Brian Smith, 6-1, 230, 16 tackles and fumble recovery; NG Brent Pollock, 6-2, 320, made 13 stops (7 solo); and DE Ryan Riddle, 6-3, 240, recorded 12 tackles (6 solo) and 2 pass deflections

PASADENA – LB James Griffin, 6-2, 200, got in on 11 tackles (10 solo), had 3 QB sacks, 5 hurries, and a pass knockdown.

GROSSMONT – LB John Castillo, 6-0, 230, recorded 13 tackles with 3 for loss.

SOUTHWESTERN – Freshman LB Raheem Royster, 6-2, 230, made 4 solo tackles, 5 assists, caused a fumble, and had 3 sacks.

FULLERTON – LB Adam Lancisero, 5-9, 215, recorded 11 tackles (6 solo), 2 for losses, a sack, and 2 fumble recoveries.

DIXIE – DL Nick Sonntag, 6-3, 240, and freshman DE Levi Manutai, 6-3, 255, each had 8 sacks in first 5 games.

L.A. HARBOR – LB Ashley Subing Subing had 13 tackles with 3 for losses, in a 22-7 win over LA Pierce.  He is 6-0, 215.

SANTA BARBARA – LB Rod Bebernes, 6-0, 215, made 17 tackles (3 for loss) and 2 interceptions vs. LA Valley.

GLENDALE – LB Adam Gil, 6-0, 230, made 5 solo tackles, had 4 assists, 2 sacks, recovered a fumble and had a hurry.

OTHERS

SADDLEBACK – Freshman P Steve Berneking, 6-3, 180, had 6 punts for a 42.0 avg.; 3 punts inside the 20; and one 67-yarder.

CERRITOS – PK Adam Sonntag, 6-0, 175, made 4 PATs; then he made 2 tackles and a fumble recovery on kickoffs.

ITAWAMBA – Chris Shoup made field goals of 39, 30 and 34 yards and was 2 for 2 on PATs in a 23-20 decision over Pearl River.

HARPER – TB Dion Brown had a big day, scoring TDs on a 48-yard screen pass, 96-yard KOR, and 17-yard run. All that in a 55-13 win over DuPage.

NAVARRO  - PK Stan Jones toed 4 field goals vs. Blinn.

HANCOCK – Ian Ur, 6-4, 200, kicked 37, 19 and 22-yard field goals and 4 PATs in a decisive 45-0 win over Santa Monica.  He has made 6 straight FGs.

COFFEYVILLE  - Rushing offense of 429 yards was led by OT Steve Franklin, 6-5, 315, who recorded 10 pancake blocks, and OT Paul Soliai, 6-5, 315, with 9 pancake blocks.

RIVERSIDE – DB Kinte Haynes, 6-2, 190, returned 5 punts 67 yards and recorded 2 INTs on defense, one for 33 yards.
