Two on top for Jacques

A big, athletic offensive tackle is a luxury most teams would love to have on their roster and College of the Sequoias OT Kindley Jacques(6-7, 325) has had an excellent season thus far for the Giants. Two schools have picked up the pace recently with him and he's hoping to set up some visits in the next few weeks.

"Personally my season is going well, but we're kinda struggling right now," Jacques said. "We had a bad game this past weekend against Fresno City (COS lost 60-14), but we're just going to get back to work and play the best we can and just see what happens."

With his size, attitude and athleticism, Jacques is an ideal candidate for a D-1 scholarship and two BCS schools have stepped up their recruiting of the big man who hails from the Sunshine State.

"Arizona State and Kansas State are about it right now," Jacques said. "Both call me every week and tell me they like what I bring to the table. My coaches said more schools have been asking for transcripts and tape on me, but right now they said it isn't something to worry about because they aren't as serious as they need to be.

"I'll probably take my visits after my season, so I'm not too worried about that stuff right now."

Jacques worked on his strength this past summer and said that has helped him become a better drive-blocker than he was last season.

"My squat and my power clean have really helped me be more physical this year," Jacques said. "I like to be aggressive now, where last year I felt much more comfortable in passing sets instead of run blocker."

We'll have more from Jacques in the coming weeks as he begins to set up his visits
