Mohler sets up visit to Big 12 school

It's been a roller-coaster in the recruitment of Orange Coast LB Shaun Mohler (6-3, 225) who committed to Cal during the spring and then switched his commitment to Nebraska on an official visit during the summer. Now the talented outside linebacker, who is leading the state in tackles, has opened his recruiting back up but he's still committed to the Cornhuskers at this time.

"I've sorta opened up things again," Mohler said. "I'm not saying I'm not committed, but I want to check out some things and look around. I want to make sure how things are going to work out down (at Nebraska) and see what happens.

"I loved my time there and enjoyed the atmosphere and the coaches and that's why I committed when I was there and I switched things up, but things are kinda messy there right now and I'm not sure what's going to happen so I think it's best that I check out other schools as well."

Mohler said he's planning to visit Colorado on December 8th and then will take a look at three, as yet, unnamed Pac 10 schools.

"My coaches are making some calls for me and putting my name out there," Mohler said. "I just want schools to know that I'm open to listening to things."

For the season Mohler has posted an impressive 94 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, seven sacks and one interception from his weakside linebacker position.

"We have struggled this season, but I've done well personally," Mohler said. "We basically have to win out in order to make the playoffs and we've got some tough games in front of us so it will be hard, but I think we can do it."

We'll have more from Mohler when he wants to make his other three schools public knowledge.
