New Mexico State commit still looking around

New Mexico Military CB McNeal Uwajeh (6-1, 205) is a physical playmaker in the secondary and he made a commitment in November to New Mexico State, but with a solid season for Broncos Uwajeh has garnered interest from some BCS schools and he's thinking about looking their way before he signs on that dotted line in December.

"I was the guy they didn't throw at," Uwajeh said with a chuckle earlier this week. "They threw away from me a lot and I know it's out of respect, but that's like playing pickup basketball and not having anyone pass you the ball.

"I was a little frustrated at times, but when I had the chance to make plays I really went all out the make them."

For the season, Uwajeh posted 20 tackles, five passes broken up and no interceptions.

He committed to Hal Mumme and the Aggies in mid-November, but now a couple of other schools have made him take a longer look at their schools before he signs his letter of intent.

"I'm going to San Diego State this weekend (Dec. 8th)," Uwajeh said. "Their coaches are really good there and they said they just want me to come and check things out.

"They haven't offered me yet, but they said they would probably end up doing that on my visit.

"Kansas State and UTEP have also been contacting me and saying they want me to take a look, but I'm not sure how serious they are at this point. Both of those schools have solid programs though and I'd be interested in looking at them if they wanted me to take a visit."

Wherever Uwajeh ends up he'll have two years to play two and he does expect to sign his letter of intent on December 19th.
