Three schools close in on Ransom

It's an unfortunate reality in football, but outstanding players suffer injuries and sometimes get lost in the shuffle. That seems to be the case with Hudson Valley RB Bobby Ransom (5-9, 200). He suffered an ankle injury that limited him to just five games, but he still put up big numbers and he updated JCFootball.com recently about how his season went as well as recruiting.

"I hurt my ankle so I only played in four-and-a-half games," Ransom told JCFootball.com. "I still managed to get 600 yards and seven touchdowns and I was still named 1st Team All-Conference as well."

Ransom is a shifty back with good speed and size enough to run between the tackles and he said the injury is healed so he doesn't expect any problems.

"Oh it's good to go now," Ransom said. "I'll be fine and I've let teams know that."

Those teams would be Temple, Memphis and Central Michigan.

"Actually, Temple has been calling quite a bit and they seem really interested in me," Ransom said. "I will know more about where I stand with them next week, probably on Tuesday, so they have really started to come on.

"Memphis called this week and Central Michigan just started calling this week as well."

Ransom said he's hoping to set up at least one visit next week and hopes to get an offer very soon from one of his three suitors.

We'll have more from Ransom in the coming weeks as he gets closer to making a decision.
