Chu talks recruiting

With Brandon Seasay on one side it was tough for College of the Sequoias DE Immanuel Chu (6-3, 270) to get noticed, but he's made a name for himself as a pass-rusher off the edge and he's seeing a lot of interest from some D-1 schools. JCFootball.com caught up with Chu recently and he talked about his sophomore season and where he's at in the recruiting process.

"I had a good year," Chu told JCFootball.com recently. "I felt like I improved a lot and that I made plays when we needed me to."

Chu finished the season with 30 tackles, four sacks and five tackles-for-loss while playing both the strongside defensive end position and the defensive tackle position.

"I can play both inside and outside, it just depends on what the scheme calls for," Chu said. "I was used to playing inside and I was actually recruited to play nose tackle and then they moved me outside.

"It's a lot different playing inside and outside, so it was pretty much just getting used to different things."

Chu visited UAB this past weekend and he said it was a great visit and he is hoping to visit either Utah or Nevada this weekend.

"I was supposed to go to Texas Tech this weekend, but I've cancelled my trip there," Chu said. "I'll know a little later this week which school I will be tripping to this weekend, but it will be either Nevada or Utah."

Other schools making contact with Chu have been Kansas State, North Carolina and Arizona State.

Chu will sign his letter-of-intent on December 19th and he'll have two to play two wherever he ends up.

We'll have more from Chu as we get closer to signing day.
