Mack is headed home to Sunshine State

Heading into the 2007 football season, El Camino OL Cedrick Mack (6-2.5, 340) was one of the top players on several programs' recruiting lists. He had a great season for the Warriors this past fall, but after considering his options, Mack has decided to head home and he couldn't be happier about it.

"I committed to Florida International on Friday," Mack told JCFootball.com. "I had offers from other schools and I took a visit to Iowa State, but FIU is home and it's where I wanted to go and I'm really excited to be heading back home."

Mack is a big and physical player who can play any position along the offensive line, but he said he expects to play guard when he arrives at FIU.

"I like being aggressive and I have enough quickness to get to the second level in the running game," Mack told JCFootball.com this past summer. "I like being physical with defenders and getting to the linebackers and putting them on their backs."

Mack's offer list included several BCS schools including Oregon State, Iowa State, Kentucky, South Florida and Arizona.

"Arizona State was also coming on for me, but I made my commitment to FIU and that's where I', going to go," Mack said.

Mack will graduate in May and he will have three years to play two when he arrives on campus.
