Dorzan talks recruiting

Speed kills and one of the fleetest backs in the country still hasn't made a commitment, but Lackawanna RB Bloi-Dei Dorzan (5-9, 207) could be getting closer to making a decision. He was in State College this past weekend and he spoke recently about his visit while also updating us on his newest offer and what his plans are over the next two weeks as signing day approaches.

"I had a lot of fun up there at Penn State, but I didn't get an offer while I was there," Dorzan told on Tuesday. "I met with the coaches and they told me they liked me a lot and what I had to offer and that I was a really good running back, but they said they had to evaluate some things and they needed to meet as a staff before they could offer me.

"I was disappointed because I really wanted to get an offer from them, but out of negative things come positive things because I actually just talked to the Memphis coaches and they offered me."

The Tigers' offer joins the Jackson State, Temple and Kansas State offers that Dorzan already has in hand and he said he hopes to visit his newest school in the next two weeks.

"They are talking about me visiting there next weekend (Feb. 1st), so I might have to re-arrange my visit with Temple because that's when they wanted me to visit," Dorzan said. "I still want to visit Temple, but I may have to do that this weekend so I can visit Memphis next weekend.

"It's getting kind of hectic, but I think it's a good thing to have the options that I have."

While battling through an MCL sprain, Dorzan still managed to finish the season with 681 yards on 125 carries -- a 5.5 yard average -- and three touchdowns.

We'll continue to track Dorzan over the next few weeks as he gets closer to making his decision and we will update things as they change.
