Recruiting picks up for Roundtree

Versatile players who could play a couple different positions are valuable to all football programs. West Los Angeles LB/S Brandon Roundtree (6-2, 215) is just such a player and several schools have begun to take notice over the past few weeks. Read on to see who is making a play for the quick and athletic player from southern California.

"I'm actually taking a visit to Hampton University this weekend," Roundtree told JCFootball.com. "They offered me to come out and play outside linebacker there, so I'm going to go check them out.

"Buffalo, Arizona State, Oregon State and Washington State have all started calling me pretty recently so some things might change here in a few weeks as I start talking to them a little more."

Roundtree played mostly outside linebacker at West LA this past fall totalling 73 tackles, five interceptions and two touchdowns.

"I had a pick for a touchdown and a fumble recovery that I took back for a score," Roundtree said proudly. "I can play the run pretty well, but I think I'm at my best when I'm in coverage because I'm quick and I can use my speed to keep up with guys."

Roundtree runs the forty in 4.6 seconds and puts up 320 pounds on the bench so he can make his presence felt in the secondary.

After prepping at Long Beach Milikan in California, Roundtree had to find a junior college to play at because he didn't get a qualifying test score.

"I struggled with that, but playing here at West LA has been good," Roundtree said. "I've really enjoyed my time here and I'm looking forward to moving on to the next level."

Roundtree will graduate in May and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
