Phone continues to ring for Roby

Big, physical corners who can run are always a plus and Canyons CB Tyler Roby (6-3, 210) is one of the top uncommitted defensive backs in the country. caught up with Roby recently and he talked about the phone calls he's been getting and what schools have shown him they are close to offering him.

"It's been busy, but I'm just being patient," Roby told recently. "I have offers from Kansas State, Utah State, Florida International and Ole Miss and Arizona State, LSU and Memphis have been calling a lot.

"Oklahoma and Hawaii have also been calling me."

At this point, Roby admitted he doesn't have any plans to visit and he said that he's leaning toward committing to a school from the Sunshine State.

"Florida International is where I'm leaning to right now," Roby said. "They are bringing in some good players and I would love to play down there because they are building up their program and they have the toughest non-conference schedule in the country next year so I would be playing against the top teams."

Roby's size and his outstanding speed (4.36) are what has coaches so intrigued.

"I finished with 16 tackles and five picks," Roby said. "A lot of teams threw away from me, but I know it was out of respect for what I could do.

"You've gotta love it when they are scared to throw it your way, but it was sorta frustrating because I wanted to help our team more."

For his efforts, Roby was named to the First Team All-Western States Mountain Division squad.

We'll continue to track Roby's progress and update things as they change.
