Could an offer be close of Walters?

After signing day earlier this month, there were several talented players still waiting for that first offer and one player that might be hearing something soon is Cerritos CB B.G. Walters (5-10, 185). He'd been hearing from several schools, but they decided to go in different directions so now, its' the waiting game. Walters spoke with recently and he updated us on his situation.

"I'm still hearing from a couple of schools," Walters said. "Kentucky, Wisconsin, North Carolina State and Pittsburgh are schools that are still looking at me, but a lot of the schools that I have been talking to want to go through their spring ball before they decide what they want to do.

"It's kind of frustrating, because a lot of the coaches have told me they like what I have to offer, with my speed and my ability to shut guys down, but they just haven't stepped up and offered yet.

"All I can do is be patient and wait on things and see how the whole thing plays out."

This season Walters only played in eight games because of a "tweaked" knee, but he still managed to post over 50 tackles, two sacks, three interceptions and double-digit pass breakups.

"I had a good year for the most part, but it was frustrating being nicked up a bit," Walters said. "I nicked my knee up a little and we sort of shut things down so I wouldn't get hurt bad and so it could heal. It's good to go now though so schools don't need to worry about me not being healthy."

Walters will finish his two-year degree in May and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
