Another offer rolls in for Patterson

One of the more popular JC wideouts so far this offseason has been Palomar WR Maurice Patterson (6-3, 200). On Monday he got good news as a Mountain West school stepped forward with an offer bringing his total to four. Read on to find out where Patterson stands at this point and what other schools may be close to offering the talented receiver.

"Wyoming offered me today," Patterson told JCFootball.com on Monday. "I have offers from Nevada, Colorado State and San Diego State and then California, USC and Kentucky have been talking to my coaches and telling them they like me and will be keeping an eye on me."

As a freshman at Palomar, Patterson posted 11 receptions for 241 yards and two scores and he's known for his ability to stretch the field.

"I can use my speed to run by guys and my strength to out-muscle them," Patterson said. "Last summer I ran a 4.38 before our season, so I can do whatever it takes with my size and my speed and I'm strong too (315-pound bench press) so that helps in getting off press-coverage and going for jump balls."

Patterson said he recently scheduled an official visit with Nevada for August 28th and he noted he would like to take all of his official visits before he makes a decision.

We'll continue to track Patterson's progress over the next few months and update things as they happen.
