Five offers and counting for Fonoimoana

L.A. Harbor S Genesis Fonoimoana (6-0, 205) is a physical specimen. He can jump out of the gym, he runs like a deer and he'll plant any wide receiver, back or tight end that comes into his area. He's parlayed his gridiron prowess into several conditional early offers and now he's focused in the classroom as much as he is out on the football field.

"I've been really focused on my schoolwork actually," Fonoimoana told recently. "I've got a few offers and they all said as long as I get it done in there, that I have a full-ride from them"

Those schools are Washington State, LSU, Kansas State, Akron and Arizona.

"Kansas State has been after me really hard," Fonoimoana said. "They said they like my athleticism and what I do out there in the secondary and how physical I am.

"LSU offered and said I needed to concentrate and keep on top of my studies and that's what I've been doing this summer."

In addition to his classwork, Fonoimoana has been in the film room studying up for what he hopes is a championship season.

"Our defense looks like it's going to be really strong," Fonoimoana said. "We've got some really talented guys who can make plays and we're hoping to give our offense the chance to put some points up.

"Our offense has been coming along well too and they are really challenging us to get better as well."

Last year for the Seahawks, Fonoimoana set a school record with seven interceptions while also totaling 76 tackles and two sacks.

We'll continue to follow Fonoimoana's progress as recruiting continues to heat up.
