More early interest for Davis

One of the most versatile and explosive wideouts in the California JC ranks this year is College of the Siskiyous WR Darius Davis (5-11, 195). He's been busy this summer working out and getting ready for what he hopes is a big sophomore season, but he's also been hearing from more schools including an SEC program that is looking to add more firepower to its wide receiver corps.

"Kentucky started contacting me a little while ago and they said they really like me," Davis told JCFootball.com. "They said they liked my versatility because I can return kicks and punts and they can move me around to play the slot and out wide, so they seem pretty interested.

"I'm still open to everyone who is recruiting me. I want to take my visits and show people that I am explosive and that I can improve."

In addition to the Wildcats, Davis has already been offered by Akron and New Mexico and has been getting interest from schools like Miami, Troy, Illinois, South Carolina and South Florida among others.

As a freshman in 2007, Davis managed to haul in 61 receptions for 928 yards and eight touchdowns while also averaging 24.4 yards per kickoff return.

Because Davis was a full-qualifier out of high school, he'll be able to sign with a school this December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
