Bobcat linebacker Eric Lichtenstein was in on numerous tackles and also recovered a fumble, while JCJC's Elliott McGaskin had a pass interception. Caleb McQueen and William Veasley also had fumble recoveries.

Jones scored on its first possession, driving 71 yards in six plays. On the first play from scrimmage, James connected with Jackson on a 47-yard pass when both Jackson and the defender fell down. However, Jackson ended up catching the ball while on his back. James later found Jackson for a 7-yard scoring strike. Jacob Chancellor's extra point made it 7-0 with 10:19 left in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Lichtenstein recovered a fumble at his 37-yard line and returned it to his own 47. The Bobcats drove to the Co-Lin 13, but the drive ended when Dequan Menzie picked off James in the end zone with 4:35 left in the first half.

From that point, Co-Lin drove all the way to the Jones' 8. On the final play of the half, Tyler Fitzgerald booted a 25-yard field goal to make it 7-3.

Jones added to its lead late in the third quarter, driving 54 yards in just three plays. A 36-yard pass from James to Jackson put the ball on the Co-Lin 1. From there, Borne went over for the touchdown. Chancellor's PAT made it 14-3 with 1:32 left in third quarter.

The Wolves got within 14-9 with 7:28 remaining in the game when Micah Davis connected with Quo Vadis Lindsey on a 5-yard scoring strike. That capped a 46-yard, five-play drive. Co-Lin drew an illegal procedure penalty on the conversion attempt, but still elected to go for two points. However, Davis' pass fell incomplete.

But Jones came right back, taking the ensuing kickoff and driving 61 yards in six plays. A 19-yard completion from James to Rafael Pollard on third and 13 proved to be a crucial play during the drive.

Borne then scored again on an 11-yard run with 4:25 left to give the Bobcats some breathing room. Chancellor added his third extra point of the night to cap the scoring.

The outer bands of Hurricane Ike affected the game. Around 30 minutes prior to kickoff, a heavy downpour drenched the fans and the field. And midway through the second quarter, sheets of rain began falling in the stadium.

The Bobcats return home against East Central next Thursday. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium/Sim Cooley Field.

Co-Lin travels to Southwest for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff next Thursday.
