Bell blowing up at Santa Ana

It's been quite a while since we've been able to catch up with Santa Ana DE B.J. Bell (6-3, 252) and we aren't alone. Apparently, offensive linemen are having a problem catching him as well because Bell is already off to a huge start for the Dons, but the talented pass-rusher is taking it all in stride.

"The season has been going really well," Bell told JCFootball.com recently. "Honestly, I've just been letting things come to me and I haven't been forcing things, but I've had a good start to the season."

In three games, Bell already has 18 tackles, four sacks, 7.5 tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recover and he's basically been a thorn in the side of every offensive line that's tried to block him.

"My 'get-off' is what sets me apart," Bell said. "I really have been on with anticipating things and making sure I'm holding down my responsibilities."

On the recruiting front, Bell said he's still hearing from the same programs he was hearing from in the spring -- Middle Tennessee, Utah State, Oregon and Oregon State, but some new schools have also started to turn up the heat a little as well.

"San Diego State, Kansas State, Boise State, UNLV and North Carolina State have been in contact with me," Bell said. "Honestly, I'm not really that focused on recruiting right now.It will take care of itself. I want to do well this year and max out my capabilities and if I do that I know recruiting will come along."

This weekend the Dons will take on Moorpark on the road.
