Leonard has Pac 10 visit scheduled

One of the more promising offensive line prospects in southern California this year is Saddleback OT Brett Leonard (6-6, 304). He's already made a name for himself by facing some of the top JUCO pass rushers in the country every week and schools from across the country have taken notice. He even has a trip set up with a Pac 10 school and he updated JCFootball.com on how things are going so far...

"It't been good so far," Leonard told JCFootball.com when asked how his season is going. "I mean, we've had some tough games, but we're playing hard and we got a big win last weekend so we're just trying to keep it going."

Leonard prepped at Hollister High School up in the Central Valley and greyshirted at Gavilan College in 2006 before moving south to Saddleback last year.

"Everybody who plays ball at Hollister goes to Gavilan," Leonard said. "But after I was there for a year, I just decided I wanted to come down here and play against the best JC teams and talent there is, and I'm glad I did because I'm having a lot of fun."

Leonard started every game for the Gauchos at right tackle last fall before moving over to the left side this season.

"I have quick feet and I think I can handle anyone I face," Leonard said. "I feel real comfortable pass blocking and that helps me on the left side."

On the recruiting front, Leonard is hearing from a plethora of schools and one Pac 10 program has told him they want him to visit in early December.

"Cal told me they wanted me to visit if we didn't get past the first round of the playoffs," Leonard said. "They said December 6th is when they want me to visit, so that's tentative right now.

"Oregon, Oregon State, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan State, UCLA, Arizona and Arizona State are all recruiting me pretty hard as well, but I don't have any offers yet."

Leonard is on pace to sign with a school in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
