Possible trip to Big 10 school for Canyons QB

With Canyons off to a 5-0 start, QB Brad McClellan (6-4, 207) has seen recruiting pick up quite a bit and he's being pursued by a Big 10 school that wants him to visit soon. JCFootball.com caught up with the playmaking signal-caller to get the scoop on things including how his season has progressed so far...

"We're playing well and I'm having a lot of fun so far," McClellan told JCFootball.com on Friday morning. "We have Ventura this weekend and they are a good team, so we're just focused on that, then we have our bye week."

On his bye week, McClellan may be visiting a Big 10 school to check out their program and facilities and to meet with the coaching staff.

"Purdue wants me to come out and visit, but I'm not sure when right now," McClellan said. "I need to call them next week and find out if they want me to visit becuase it's my bye week and that would be a perfect time, but I might wait until after the season to do that."

Besides Purdue, schools like Tennessee-Martin, Florida International, Colorado State and Kentucky have also been recruiting the multi-dimensional quarterback.

"Colorado told my coaches they like me a lot and they are really interested in me," McClellan said. "I don't have any offers yet though, so it's sorta just 'wait-and-see' for me."

For the season, McClellan has managed to put up solid numbers, completing 70 of 113 for 1,179 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions while also rushing for 351 yards and four scores on the ground.

McClellan is on pace to graduate in December and he'll have two years to play two wherever he ends up.
