Santa Rosa's Driver is a hot commodity

When last we spoke with Santa Rosa CB Brandon Driver (5-11, 180) he had a couple of offers and a tentative official visit to Oregon State on tap. That visit didn't happen, but now he's got quite a few offers in-hand and three official visits planned for after the season. Read on to find out what he had to say about recruiting and which schools could be close to offering...

"Our season is going good," Driver told on Sunday evening. "We're 7-2 now and we're playing well.

"I've had a good season so far. I have three touchdowns and four interceptions and over 40 tackles, but I'm not sure of the exact number. I also have a lot of pass-breakups as well."

Driver plays corner for the Bear Cubs and he said with Diamond Weaver on the other side, they could be the best tandem in the state.

"We lock it down you know," Driver said confidently. "We are confident in ourselves and our teammates, so we just go out and play and do what we have to do to help us get some wins."

On the recruiting front, Driver has offers from across the country and he's also scheduled three visits and another one could get set up soon as well.

"I have offers from Arizona, Utah State, Kansas, Kansas State, Akron, New Mexico, Oregon State and Toledo right now," Driver said. "UCLA and Utah are both talking to me and I've set up a visit with UCLA on December 6th and they said they will probably have a scholarship waiting for me then and I will be in Utah on December 19th and they said they have one waiting for me there too.

"Other than that I will be at Kansas State on December 11th and I am close to setting one up with Oregon State, but I haven't had that one confirmed yet. I was supposed to visit there in October, but they cancelled it because they said they weren't going to be brining guys in during the season so they wanted to wait until after the season to do that."

Driver is on pace to graduate in May and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
